Sue painting at Missenden Abbey

Following a career in the Travel and Events business, Sue trained professionally with graphic skills as a Garden Designer, graduating with distinction and winning the Bradford Garden Design Prize. This resulted in a Medal-winning Garden at Chelsea Flower Show in 1991 with a Garden for Children with Special Needs. Her Garden Design career for seven years followed.

Art training included University of the Creative Arts, Epsom, and Reigate Art College. Sue’s family call her Course Girl as she often attends courses in many Art Media, both in the UK and France.

Sue is interested in many art forms but considers her strengths lie in very colourful mixed media painting, printmaking and collage, although she has recently started oil portraits in France. She does not take the Art world too seriously. Her horticultural background; broad travel experience, together with her love of animals, permeate her paintings, which are full of bright colours, fun and vitality.  She wonders if she may have had a previous life as a Fauve?

Sue runs ‘Anyone Can be Creative’ workshops in both the UK and France, demonstrating principally how to have fun with collage, water-based paints and inks. Sue has a house in Montauroux in the VAR region of PROVENCE and enjoys painting with the Varois Artists; running WORKSHOPS with fellow artists and offering PAINTING HOLIDAYS

PhotoMontages, of celebratory occasions such as ‘Significant’ birthdays or wedding anniversaries can be commissioned. She sells Limited Edition Giclee Prints and Cards drawn from her original work.
